• Support
We hold space for what’s heavy.
You don’t have to carry your story alone. In this community, we make room for all the messy, tender, complicated parts—without fixing, minimizing, or rushing you through them. We gather not to give advice, but to offer presence. This is where soft landing begins.
    • Virtual coffee chats to feel less alone
    • Gentle live Q&As with J.D. and guests
    • Monthly Porch Light and Prepared Parent Series
  • Growth
The softest changes go the deepest.
Growth here isn’t about pushing harder—it’s about noticing more, connecting inward, and being honest with yourself. Each month, we gather to explore new angles of self-awareness, healing, and storytelling. Your voice expands when it’s truly heard.
    • Monthly live workshops and themed sessions
    • Invitations to reflect and journal with guided prompts
    • Bonus tools that mirror the Storytelling Alchemy journey
  • Practice
    Healing doesn’t just happen—it’s practiced.
Between sessions and quiet moments, you’ll find space to try things on. Whether that’s using a voice note to capture your feelings or trying a new prompt, the community gives you a gentle rhythm to keep softening. It’s not about doing more—it’s about being with what’s real.
    • Audio meditations and creative experiments
    • Storytelling challenges (always opt-in, never pressured)
    • A place to share what you’re working through—if and when you want to
Porch Light Series
There's a belief most of us carry into creative work without ever naming it out loud. That we need to fix the condition first. Feel better first. Sort through the weight first. And then — once we're on the other side of whatever we're carrying — the real work can begin. This Porch Light is about what it costs to keep believing that. About the two stories we tell about pain and creative work — the romantic suffering narrative and the productivity narrative — and how neither one says the thing that's actually true. That the signal is information. That the body tracks everything. That what you've been treating as static might be the most accurate data you have about where the real work needs to go.

*The Porch Light Series is exclusive to Story House Steward members.
Prepared Parent Series
Most parenting content moves fast.
More tips. More strategies. More videos of someone else's beautifully arranged home making you wonder what you're doing wrong.

This isn't that.

The Prepared Parent is a monthly written series for parents who want to go slower. Who are drawn to the philosophy of a prepared environment, an observed child, a regulated self — and who want a quiet place to think about what that actually looks like in their real life, on their real days, in their real home.

Each month arrives as a simple bundle of written pieces:
  • A longform letter that opens in an ordinary moment and moves toward something true.
  • A journal companion with prompts designed not to instruct but to help you see — yourself, your child, the shape of your days.
  • And a free intro available to all, so you always know what the month is holding before you step inside it.

No videos. No worksheets. No performance required.
Just writing worth returning to, and questions worth sitting with.

The philosophy behind it.
Montessori is often taught as a set of materials and methods. But underneath all of it is something simpler and more demanding — the idea that the adult in the room is as much a part of the child's environment as anything on the shelf.

Which means the work of preparing the space and the work of preparing yourself are not two different things.

The Prepared Parent lives in that overlap. Each month moves through a different dimension of that work — the environment you create, the attention you bring, the repair you offer, the trust you build — slowly, honestly, without asking you to be further along than you are.

Who this is for.
  • You don't have to be a Montessori parent to be here.
  • You don't have to have the right shelves or the right materials or a dedicated space in your home.
  • You just have to be someone who wants to parent with more presence than reaction.

More intention than habit. More honesty than performance.
If that's you — this was written for you.

How to access it.
The Prepared Parent is a monthly benefit for Story House Steward members of our newsletter, hosted on Beehiiv — a $10/month tier that also includes Porch Light, a monthly intimate audio series for the quieter parts of your life.

Together they make a simple, unhurried rhythm — something to read and return to, something to listen to when the house is finally still.
